The story behind the storyteller

Before What's Good Sac,
there was just the work.

For seven years, I've done grassroots outreach in this community — the kind that doesn't show up on camera, helping people rebuild their lives one conversation at a time. That work taught me something: everyone has a story worth telling, and most of them never get told.

That work eventually led me to found The Rise Community Care, helping people rebuild their lives through community-based support — and it's the same belief driving this project.

I started documenting that journey — first just for myself, then for whoever wanted to watch. That became Nayem's Journey, and somewhere along the way, people started showing up.

Not because I chased numbers, but because people care about real stories, told honestly.

Every storefront you drive past has a person behind it who believed enough to begin.

I also host The Sacramento Seat, where I sit down with the people shaping this region — founders, leaders, and everyday people with something to say.

What's Good Sac is the next chapter of that same belief. I'm here to find the people behind Sacramento's storefronts, tell their story, and bring this community back to the ones who make it.

If the track record matters to you — that's it. If not, the work will speak for itself.
